This was one of our favourite commissions. We melted down two family heirloom gold rings from, one from the bride and one from the groom. Combining a 22ct gold and 18ct yellow gold ring enabled us to create a truly unique alloy of gold for Chloe and her partner.
Below are just a few of the stages of how we transformed treasured heirlooms into a pair of wedding bands to be treasured for years to come and imbued with sentiment and meaning.
We made this special pendant for Tom’s partner to celebrate the birth of the baby. This special one of a kind Opal from Lightening Ridge in Australia sits in a 18ct Green Gold bezel setting on an oxidised backing to highlight the fire and colour in this special stone.
The Australian Lightening Ridge Opal was sourced from Ancients17 an American opal cutter, for this commission. The black opal is set in 18ct green gold, which was hand alloyed in our studio and backed onto oxidised silver to allow the green and ocean blues to shine.
Chloe came to us with her grandmothers ring with a deep dark blue sapphire and a diamond ring. We made a bespoke ring based one one of our asymmetric designs set in 18ct yellow gold. We kept a contemporary look by using an inverted D shaped profile and a full rub over setting around the sapphire.
Miri came to us with her engagement ring that she loved but it wasn’t to her taste. A truly sentimental sapphire central stone was to remain the central stone with the two diamonds either side. Miri also wanted to include some small sapphires from a dress ring she wore dressing up as a child.
We hand carved the ring in wax before having it cast in solid 18ct yellow gold, with each stone being hand set in their settings.
Hannah came to us looking for a one of a kind engagement ring and we created this ring with her based on our signature pear asymmetric style. A rich earthy brown diamond is set in buttery 18ct yellow gold and placed on an inverted D profile band, keeping it contemporary but still comfortable.
We worked with Nancy to remodel her Grandmothers ring into a modern Etruscan treasure using the Old Cut Diamonds and gold from two rings. We combined 18ct yellow gold some 22ct from an old wedding band to create a unique alloy just for Nancy. Tiny granules of gold are fused to the rings settings, framing the diamonds.
Tobias first came to commission a bespoke engagement ring in 18ct yellow gold with an Australian Parti-Sapphire. When it came to their wedding bands they wanted to use Tobias’ inherited rings for Marta’s wedding band to compliment the engagement ring but retain some of the design from the inherited ring.
Caroline came to us with a doublet opal and some old cut diamonds inherited from her mother. We worked together to design a necklace to bring the two elements together in rich 18ct yellow gold.
Jacqui came to us with her mothers antique Burmese Ruby and diamond ring which wasn’t to her taste, so we worked together to create a one of a kind ring. The oval ruby sits in a custom handmade 18ct yellow gold setting on a platinum D profile band which was cast using metal from another broken ring.
We had the pleasure of making Marta’s engagement and wedding rings, as well as these one of a kind earrings for her wedding day. She wanted to incorporate a pair of heirloom emerald cut Brazilian Topaz stones for a dramatic pair of earrings to wear for years to come. A fan of our Speckle collection but wanting to have something more symmetrical and contemporary.
This ring was a true collaboration between client, myself and fellow makers. Dave found a rock with a garnet crystal while hiking in Greenland, which he deiced to take home. Our friend Chris Massey cut and faceted the garnet crystal to create this unique stone and with a brief of creating a one of a kind ring with an ancient feel we created this special ring. A halo of grey diamonds frame the garnet and rich 18ct yellow gold lifts the red tones and the final mill grain edge provides a rustic aesthetic.
We worked with Rebecca to create a dreamy sapphire and diamond ring. Choosing a green sapphire as the central stone with a small blue sapphire and white diamond to compliment the central stone, creating an asymmetric feel.
We created a 18ct yellow gold, sapphire and diamond ring from heirloom jewellery passed through generations. We melted down gold bracelets to make the ring and had the stones expertly set in bespoke settings with sprinklings of of signature speckles.
We created this one of a kind ring for Steph in 9ct white gold with a pear white and round pink Argyle diamond. The subtle pink diamond is from the Argyle mine in Western Australia which represents her daughter, while the classic pear represents the traditional engagement ring. A soft and comforting oval band in 9ct white gold makes this ring a wonderful band to wear.
Natalie created a smooth oval profile 9ct white gold band for Natalie and a wide but shallow D shaped profile for James in strong 18ct white gold.
Object maker Katy found the perfect little brown rose cut diamond and we crafted cool 9ct white gold to create the perfect little ring. A little champagne diamond accompanying it give the ring our signature look.
Anna had some heirloom jewellery that wasn’t to her taste so we worked with her to create a bespoke ring using some of the diamonds from a pair of earrings. The old cut diamonds were carefully removed and then set in 9ct yellow gold to create a one of a kind ring with our signature ‘Speckles’.
We sourced a beautiful Sri Lanka sapphire to create this one of a kind ring in cool 18ct white gold. Set asymmetric with our signature ‘Speckles’ it’s one of our favourites.
We created a 18ct white gold round profile ring for Kerry and a 9ct white gold D profile band for Dave.
Claire’s parents commissioned us to make a graduation present to celebrate her milestone and we found this special princess cut peach sapphire and created a one of a kind square ring in 9ct white gold.
Margaret came to us to have her mothers diamond ring remodelled into a set of contemporary rings that she could wear individually or as a set. Made of 9ct white gold.
We tailor made B’s ring to sit next to her lovely 18ct white gold and diamond eternity engagement ring. Crafted 18ct yellow gold inverted D profile band has a slightly polished scratch finish with a high polish internal surface to give extra comfort. J’s ring was crafted from 14ct yellow gold with a fine satin finish and an internal polished surface.
This twist on a classic Speckle ring was created for Tania who wanted silvery 9ct white gold with contrasting 18ct yellow gold setting and speckles with a perfect little diamond set centrally. The inverted band retains a geometric crisp feel while giving comfort for everyday wear.
Anna had a pair of Victorian Diamond earrings that she didn’t wear and so we removed the stones in order to make a contemporary necklace. Using the largest diamond at 1.12 carats we created a bespoke shaped setting for the diamond from 18ct yellow gold with an opening to allow the chain to flow through seamlessly.
We worked with Alistair and Leonie to create a pair of bespoke wedding bands.
Simon commissioned us to make a pair of earrings using the left over small diamonds from an heirloom ring. using our signature speckles we created a pair of bespoke drop speckle earrings each with a diamond set within.
